Promoter Gary Shaw has every intention of enforcing the mandatory status of Bryant Jennings (19-0, 10KOs) to the WBC heavyweight title

Jennings won a semi-final eliminator on July 26th at New York's Madison Square Garden, with a twelve round split decision victory over previously unbeaten Mike Perez.

The WBC title is currently held by Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21KOs), who defends next against mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32KOs).

Povetkin should be fighting for the WBC title. Who has Wilder fought in the top 30? Stiverne beats Arreola so he becomes the WBC usurper. That's all Stiverne has beaten and that's all Stiverne is, a usurper. Jennings barely squeaked by Perez, who Takam beat clearly. Povetkin KO's Takam, but Takam would take Jennings. It looks like the WBC is trying to create a fake American belt. No matter who wins it they will only be a pretender and usurper. They didn't win it in the ring against Klitschko and they never could.

i dont agree why would he have to fight povetkin he already earned the fight beating perez the situation jennings has always been in he had to work his way up the ladder the hard way no reason for him to risk losing something he alreadey earned the only thing that needs to happen is wilder and stiverne just need to fight and winner get jennings already. Honestly im glad they are making these fights happen the champ should be the best not the one with the best promoter

If Stiverne wins, maybe he defends vs Jennings but probably would be looking for $$ vs Klitchko.

Wilder wins, then even though Jennings isnt much of a threat in the HW division, Id have to think team Wilder would go back to milking wins vs cadavers.

I like Jennings, but I'm beginning to come to grips with the reality that he's above average, at best.
