Kovalev is -275, I think that is a great bet to make, not to take anything away from Hopkins, as I believe it is possible that he could win, but in my book it is unlikely. Hopkins has become such a phenom, such an incredible story, the odds are not reflecting reality. I think Hops should be about +500 at best, not +200 which is what I am seeing.
This is a fight where EVERYTHING has to go right for Hopkins all the time, in every round. The chances of him taking out are Kov exist, but they are limited. And the chances of BHop absolutely bewildering Kov for 12 rounds exist, but are limited as well.
Kov landing a fight changing punch exist for 36 minutes, should it go that far. Plus, Kov is not underestimated Hops and has the perfect trainer for this particular fight, in former Hops opponent and trainer JD Jackson.
This isn't to say that Kov can't get popped and dropped by the old man, but as a bettor playing the odds, Kov to win looks very very solid at -275.
