Calzaghe's next fight: Roy Jones Jr at the Millenium Stadium

The long-awaited Calzaghe-Jones clash will happen on the eve of the World Cup final in Berlin. The date for Calzaghe-Jones is July 8th, and will take place at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff.

Calzaghe says it's a "dream come true" and says that he's "wanted this fight at this venue for seven or eight years".

if roy could still take a punch he would hand Calzaghe his ass, and i still think he could. of course everyone wants to fight roy after he was ko'd twice. i know you made this up but i wouldn't be surprised. get off Calzaghe's sack. i told everyone that you really thought calzaghe would win and were just picking lacy to hopefully set yourself up for what your doing now, and that's nuthugging Calzaghe, you aren't fooling anyone.

If it happens, my first instinct would actually be to favor Roy. Roy is going to insist on a ref who will not allow any clinching or in-fighting. Roy will stay outside and try to slow the pace down and fight in spurts, and probably make it very close. Roy is also a student of the game, and a seasoned professional... he's going to study Joe's game backwards and forwards.

I really have to question why it would happen, though. Joe should go after Tarver if he gets by Hopkins. I really hate it when these matchups that were dream matches years ago only come together when it doesn't matter anymore.

I personally think that Jones will win, he always had the style to beat Calzaghe. I just see Calzaghe as too square-on, with Jones' coward style of throwing one potshot then running being able to give Calzaghe fits.
