Comments Thread For: Hopkins Aims To Beat Kovalev Better Than Trinidad/Pavlik

IBF/WBA light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins, nearly 50-years-old, is looking to make a huge statement on November 8th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Hopkins is facing WBO champion Sergey Kovalev (25-0-1, 23KOs) in a very high stakes unification.

If Hopkins is successful, some experts will consider it the biggest victory of his long career - even bigger than his showcase wins over Felix "Tito" Trinidad, Jean Pascal and Kelly Pavlik. Hopkins is predicting a statement win, and wants to beat Kovalev in better fashion than he did Trinidad or Pavlik.

Hopkins is a legend but I think kovalev is the guy to beat him. Kovalev will land at some point. Kovalev's ability to pick his shots is very underrated, this ain't your typical wild power puncher that throws blind hayemakers. I just feel that he will clip bhop with something and finish him.

At this stage of his career it ain't getting no better than the performances against Tito and Pavlik!

And let's not put Kovalev on the level of Tito Trinidad or Kelly Pavlik.

At this point the only performance that could possibly top the Tito/Pavlik victories would have to be a shut out performance against none other than Andre Ward.

Good luck with that old man.
