How do you think they would have fared if they decided to move up?

Marvin Hagler. He'd had to go to 175 and not 168 since 168 didn't really come into being until 84/85 . He was much too small for 175 and would have had real problems.

Didn't Willie Pep stay at featherweight for pretty much his entire career?

and all those fighters could have been greater if they had moved up...almost all those names mentioned pale in comparison to contemporaries who did move up in weight.

Hagler, Monzon, Pep fought non-title fights and catchweights above 126 but mostly fought at or under the featherweight limit

Tony Zale fought mainly at or below middleweight

Kostya Tszyu is an alltime great junior welterweight and never moved up for another title try

Antonio Cervantez was all time great at 140 and fought in a deep era, welterweight was deep in the 70's as well probably why he didn't move up with Napoles, Leonard, Benitez, and Palomino holding the title during his 2 reigns at 140

Khaosai Galaxy dominated but his competition was not the best... never moved up to be a full fledged bantamweight
