Comments Thread For: Arums Confirms Pacquiao-Algieri Direct Rematch Clause

Those thinking that Manny Pacquiao and his handlers aren’t all that concerned about underdog Chris Algieri pulling off an upset should guess again.

Promoter Bob Arum confirmed on a conference call Thursday that there’s an immediate rematch clause in the contracts for the Nov. 22 bout between Algieri (20-0, 8 KOs) and Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KOs) in Macau, China (HBO Pay-Per-View).

is Pac taking this toooooooooooo lightly , playing basketball and too much on his plate ????

        or

is this light punching Algieri gonna whip Pac for REAL ??????

The bottom line is, if Manny doesn't use head movement to avoid Algieri's consistent jab, and if he doesn't cut off the ring, this will be an easy fight for Chris. Styles make fights and Manny has always struggled with pure boxers. Now, he's facing a pure boxer that has a huge height and reach advantage. This might sound crazy, but I think Manny will need to KO Chris to win the fight. I can't see him winning on points. Algieri vs Pacquiao 2 would probably be next, but I can also see Algieri vs Bradley in the mix as well. Then the winner of those 2 gets Manny again.

What pure boxers has he had trouble with?
