Comments Thread For: Weights From Moscow: Povetkin 229.7 Lb., Takam 252 Lb.

All fighters made weight ahead of Friday's big show in Moscow, Russia. The main event pits former heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin against Top 10 contender Carlos Takam in a bout scheduled for 12 rounds.

Povetkin (27-1, 19KOs) tipped the scales at 229.7 lb, five pounds heavier than his weight for his last fight in May—a 7th round knockout of Manuel Charr, who appears on the undercard.

Takam (30-1-1, 23KOs) weighed 252 lb., a few pounds lighter than his pair of breakthrough performances earlier this year, a 10-round draw versus then-unbeaten Mike Perez and most recently a 12-round decision over longtime top contender Tony Thompson.

The winner will gain recognition as the WBC Silver heavyweight champion. [Click Here To Read More]

Charr gets Michael Grant for his comeback? Talk about a soft touch. I like Grant, but he's fairly historical these days to put it mildly.
