And Gonzalez can't even beat Ponce and an old Penalosa.

Gonzalez vs Walters is far from a superfight. It's a good little fight.

Walters/Gonzalez would be my pick for the first fight... THEN Loma for the winner. As for the Walters/Gonzalez fight, Donut Air rocked Walters badly. And Gonzalez punches at least as hard as Donut if not harder. So there's the wild card. Plus Gonzalez is a bigger name, bigger money fight, bigger attendance. And it would be more of an action fight and probably would end in a KO. Then whoever gets thru that fight gets Loma. Which ironically I think Walters would do better in, since he is slightly more the thinking fighter than Gonzalez.

I'd love to see Walters-Loma too but I'd also wonder if Loma is ready. He has the Salido fight under his belt which was a great learning experience so early in his pro career, but apart from that all he has is GRJ.

If Lomachenko still has some learning to do about the pro game, it'll be too late realise it when he's in there with a beast like Walters.

Can't complain either way. Equally good fights. Walters/Gonzalez might even be a slight bit better.

Walters preferring Gonzalez over Loma is not a problem. Walters giving bs reasons for not wanting to fight Loma next (like he did in this interview) is.

The Donaire win was great but Walters needs to get over himself. All he really has on Loma is 23 more wins over tomato cans on his resume. He has no right to act all smug saying Loma is undeserving or unknown or whatever.

(Btw is Gonzalez really that much more well known worldwide than Loma? I highly doubt it.)

He's not acting smug, he just doesn't want a high risk low reward fight. He said he'll fight him but would prefer gonzales and honestly they both bring the same to the table. Which is a belt. If he beats lomachenko then people wont even give him credit because lomachenko is still green. Salido beat him and no one even cares about that, they just make excuses for lomachenko.

Can't blame him, he is actually picking the more experienced and accomplished fighter out of the two. Jhonny has a solid resume and beating him will further certify Walters as a top name in the division.

Loma would be a great fight as well, but beating him wouldn't say as a much as beating a fighter with quite the track record like Jhonny who has beat big names and in impressive fashion.

Very much looking for ward to this fight... WAR JHONNY ALL THE WAY!!!!!! However, I have a feeling / concern that once he gets hit, Jhonny might mentally check out as the fight goes on. He doesn't react well to getting hit with heavy shots, doesn't like it.

And lost to not so big names in embarrassing fashion.

Honestly, is there anyone here who

                    1) thinks Gonzalez would beat Loma

                    2) thinks Gonzalez really have a chance vs Walters?

I'm bashing Walters vs Gonzalez, it's an ok fight, but frankly I don't see Gonzalez winning. They are about equals in power but Walters is clearly superior in just about every other aspect. Walters vs Loma is much more intriguing imo.

True, you just never know which Jhonny you are going to get. However, to be fair, Jhonny has improved and has been successful for the past 4 years or so except for the PDL fight. Aside from that, he has looked solid and has stepped up to the occassion when he steps on the big stage.

I think Jhonny beats Walters, and prefer the fight over a Lomachenko bout, at least right now at this moment in time.
