Comments Thread For: Ramirez Says Rubio Was Cowardly, Calls For Chavez Jr.

Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramírez (29-0, 23 knockouts), who is preparing in this Los Angeles for the upcoming fight with Colombian contender Fulgencio Zuniga on November 15th in San Antonio, Texas, (27-9-1, 24 knockouts), was ringside last Saturday night at StubHub Center to witness the fight between his compatriot Marco Antonio Rubio "Veneno" and "GGG" Gennady Golovkin.

Ramirez was very disappointed in what he saw from Rubio, who likely obtained his last major chance in boxing.

The finish was a bit iffy from Rubio, but I liked how he didn't seem afraid to mix it up with Golovkin before those punches landed. Stevens had some success after he went for broke and stepped up to Golovkin, as did Ouma, and Geale when he landed that hail mary right hand.

One day a really strong guy is gonna land, and withstand the power. He'll probably have to be a lot bigger than Golovkin, but whatever.

He's right. That fool did the one thing he said he wasn't going to. He quit. No interest in seeing Rubio again.

            Rubio got stopped legit.

99% of boxers who would have got hit with those punches would have took a dirt nap.
