When Hopkins wins People are gonna be complaining about a 49 year old head butting and hitting and holding to get the victory

Kovalevs problem is that Hopkins is a great ring general with vast experience. Hes going to feint, smother, hold, pot shot and do anything to make SK think more than he normally would about coming in to B-hop. Against Shumenov he did this so easily it was no problem doing it for 12 rounds. Kovalev does lots of things better than Shumenov, and i think Hopkins will struggle to win rounds after the sixth.
Interesting perspective, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

BH couldn't beat JC 6 years ago, so he isn't beating Kovalev now. Kovalev might not be special, but he just might be the best person BH has fought for a while, and BH has lost to a lesser fighters.

But BH gives us oldies inspiration and he wont disgrace himself, just taking the fight in itself was brave of the war horse, something Floyd wouldn't do and hes 14 years younger and supposedly the best.
LOL, you just couldn't resist mentioning him, could you?

If he cheats to win and gets away with it just because he's old, then people should complain about it. I hope he doesn't win that way, because he shouldn't be allowed to.

The only person who's going to be quoted is you lol

After Kovalev wins you're just gonna say Hopkins was old lol
If Kovalev wins, it will be because Hopkins is old. Does anyone in their right mind think this dope beats a primed X?

a 49 year old bullying an in-prime "beast"? and not getting caught, and people should complain?

be dissapointed because the tricks will come out, headbutts - kova has been cut in past, lowblows, hip shots

                salido will be proud

I like Kovalev here albeit not for a convincing reason. I do think Kovalev is solid enough, but Hopkins probably bit off more than he can chew. I can't remotely see a scenario where Hopkins intimidates Kovalev and my impression his intimidation factor helps him tremendously with other fighters. I expect Kovalev to jump on Hopkins early and keep the guns blazing. Hopkins will get some shots in, but can't see him putting in the sustained effort needed to keep Kovalev at bay. I also don't see him bullying Kovalev. If Dawson can flip him to the ground and injury his shoulder pretty sure Kovalev pushes him around if he tries that nonsense.

i'm pretty confident that kovalev has this. there's a lot more to his game than he's being given credit for. he doesn't close the ring off as effectively as e.g. golovkin, but he does dart in and out of range quicker than one might expect, and he's very talented at finding a home for his punches. the only way he loses this is if he gets starstruck and shows hopkins way too much respect (because hopkins certainly won't show him any). also i suspect hopkins takes the easy way out rather than allowing himself to be ktfo. he's a legend and it's commendable that he took this fight, but we've seen in the past that he hates when things don't go his way in the ring.

The problem is he gets caught, everyone knows he is fouling and faking, but the refs don't care because he's old. That's not fair, and fans shouldn't support it.

It's not tricks. It's cheating. And I really hope Hopkins doesn't resort to cheating to win.
