  • Why doesn't Ward move down to 160?

If he really wants the fight with GGG he should move down and fight then there will be public demand to it. If he can't make that weight he should just keep fighting opponents at 168 and stop *****ing about a GGG fight.

    Because he couldn't.

Screw Andre Ward anyway. Until he's actually a fighter again, everything he says is empty words and means nothing.

why would you move down to fight someone who isn't the lineal champ nor the biggest draw and thus provide the highest purse?

Isn't it more logical that the guy who said he will fight anyone from 154-168 should move up to 168-especially since he can't get a quality fight at 160, and fight the lineal champ (or maybe froch or chavez jr-the bigger draws?

Because he doesn't possess the pure genius of a Chad Dawson who dropped 7 pounds and came into his fight with Andre Ward in prime condition. What a great career move that was for Dawson. I wish we had more fighters like him.

fighters generally can't move down in weight. i'd be pretty shocked if ward were able to make 160 and remain healthy.

in cases where a fighter brings a lot to the table, a fighter may kill himself to drop down in weight, but let's be real about what's being done. it's a grab for money.

golovkin volunteering to make 154 to fight floyd is an example of this. he'd be a freaking zombie, but he'd make more money in one night than he'd made in his entire life.

Ward demanded Dawson come down to 168. Golovkin should demand Ward come down to 160.

Ward said he'd move down to 160 to fight Floyd Mayweather.
