Comments Thread For: Bob Arum Amazed With The Power of Nicholas Walters

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum believes that his company has found a new superstar in Nicholas Walters, who stunned over 9,000 fans at the StubHub Center in Carson with his sixth round knockout of Nonito Donaire, who a few years ago was widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the sport.

Walters (25-0, 21 KOs) dropped Donaire (33-3) in the third round and then put him away with a second remaining in the sixth, when he landed a big overhand right.

I was going to ask how come Arum put Nonito in a fight with this guy, now it makes sense he is a Top rank fighter.

Yeah, usually the only way you'll see Arum match his guys tough is if he promotes both of them.

The thing that impresses me about Walters (besides his power) is that he seems hungry and fights with a lot of desire. Probably as a result of where he came from. I hope he doesn't lose that now that he has reached the top.

Walters is a ****ing beast. I hope the other top FW's don't run from him. I'm loving all these KO punchers being showcased.

When Arum looks and thinks about Walters, all he sees are dollar $igns.

Ok, because matching two guys promoted by the same person in unusual? Arum matched Chavez with Martinez (who fans said he would never do) and Sergio is not Top Rank. This whole misconception about Top Rank only doing in-house fights is such BS. They've done more co-promoted fights than Golden Boy.

Anyway, sucks for Rigo because he could have been up next for Walters. Blame Caribe.
