I really enjoyed the fight, made staying up so late worth it as the main event failed to deliver. Before hand I thought it came down to Walters' straight right, Donaire's left hook and each is susceptible to the other when throwing - couldn't see it going the distance.

What really impressed me was the post fight interview, I don't think I've ever seen a fighter so gracious in victory and the other in defeat. Reminds me a bit of Alexis Arguello.

I don't know where Donaire goes from here, I'd like to see him drop down but fight who? Quigg and Frampton will be kept well away from him. I'd love to see him fight Santa Cruz.

For everyone calling Donaire a "Hypejob" you do know he did not have to fight Walters, right? I was rooting for Walters and I feel he did what he should have done, and was a class act after the victory. Walters was untested but showed he has skills. I have never been a major fan of Nonito but I have respected his zest to fight top opposition. If Nonito hangs them up, he has nothing to be ashamed of. Walters might throw wide punches and is not technically excellent, but he has the equalizer that made Nonito a star (Power). Stop throwing dirt on boxers images. Both fighters showed class after the fight and let us leave it at that. Boxers put their health on the line for Acclaim and our Entertainment, let us enjoy their craft. Great fight from both men, but obviously Donaire was overmatched.

              Yeah apparently.

In the some time stupefying world of Jim Lampley, Walters "comes from the same part of Jamaica that produced the great heavyweight champion who of course thought under the banner of England but was always a native Jamaican.".

Some one at Her Majesty's Passport Office must have dropped a bollock on the Londoner's dual nationality!

Either that or Jim's a native of a country where 50% of the population can't find New York State on a map of America.

Thankfully for us Limeys Lampley is one of the great geographically illiterate.

Rest easy England, Lennox is still ours.

Also... heh @ donaire getting beat. That guy somehow reminds me of how chavez jr acts. I don't know what it is...

but it seems like when things don't go their way.. they always act a certain way and have certain excuses and what not. But when they were fighting smaller or B and C level fighters.

They were all "I WANT THE BEST, BECAUSE I AM THE BEST"... Then they get owned and it's like

'ohh I was hurt in training... or I didn't take training serious.. or I didn't train hard, or my trainer was the problem or my pinky nail was a little too long so I couldn't punch with power.

This is what should happen when fighters are protected or are allowed to cherry pick. All of a sudden "Ya, I don't think I want to box anymore. When I became a champ, I just basically achieved my goal so I didn't take my training serious or was motivated enough"

It's called B.S. ... You just became champ and got put up against fighters you were suppose to be fighting all along and then reality hits you all at once.. LITERALLY!!!

donaire didn't even make any excuses tonight.

what the **** are you on?

The hatred for Donaire is utterly ridiculous. It's a demonstration of what drooling morons a large quantity of the boxing fanbase are, and why promoters and networks can treat them as such.

Not one other fighter with a name has stepped up to fight Rigo except Donaire. He took on as difficult a fight as was available in facing Walters. And yet these simpletons are still calling Donaire a duck. What can you do with people that dumb.
