Comments Thread For: Donaire vs. Walters - CompuBox Historical Review

Where has WBA featherweight champion Nonito Donaire's offense gone? He averaged just 29 punches thrown/8 landed in his last 3 fights (vs. Vetyeka, Darchinyan II, & Rigondeaux) after averaging 47 thrown/16 landed in his previous 5 fights. Nicholas Walters, the WBA's regular champion at 126-pounds, displayed an above average jab (vs. Darch & Garza) and can crack with both hands.

People should pay attention to those numbers and realize that Walters is not some sloppy puncher but rather a very active, efficient, sharp-shooting killer.

completely irrelevant and skewed data. Walters has been fighting 1 over the hill (though legit) opponent and bums.

Donaire fought an elite 122 pounder who has better defense than Mayweather in his last 3 fights.

irrelevant....he's accurate on beating up patsies, Donaire has legitimate contenders/elite fighters, including a guy who retired Chris John.
