Once again, a major boxing body reinforces the argument that pro boxing is still filled with too many corrupt and gang worthy officials to be considered a respectable sport with rules and regulations that are enforced regardless of who is involved, what is at stake and the venue and country a bout is put off in.
Some people wonder why there has been a drop off in talented athletes choosing boxing as a profession. Much too often the results of a world title bout are marred by ridiculous judge scorecards, further reinforced by a rejected rematch request. It means nothing to the greasy swindlers involved to setup a fixed fight where they pocket some extra cash at the price of a dedicated fighter who sacrifices his career for the financial gain of individuals without the integrity or responsibility to provide an even playing field for boxers who put their careers, livelihood and health on the line time and time again only to find their efforts are futile and the cards are already stacked against them.

Smith was battered and clearly lost. Credit to the WBO for sticking to their guns.
