    Clip: Calzaghe knocks Mitchell down

Hehe. Just to feed the Calzaghe Enthusiasm that is taking hold of the board.

For those who haven't seen the fight, Mitchell had just put Calzaghe down for the first time in his career 10 secs before this clip starts... and Joe was hurt, got caught with a hard right hand that he never saw on the inside. This is what boxing is all about. Joe stops him later in the round on a slightly controversial, but probably correct stoppage.

And Mitchell was no slouch at all, he was a hard hitter and actually beat Jeff Lacy in one round at the 1996 Golden Gloves.

I've seen the fight, used to have it on my computer. I thought the stoppage was total bull****, personally.

I see both sides, but in the end I think it was an ok stoppage. The ref just picked a weird time to stop it. Not as Mitchell staggered back against the ropes, but as he bounced back and came FORWARD...so it made it appear more controversial than it was. Mitchell had taken about 30 shots in a row and was getting hit way too clean and often without fighting back. He was staggered a couple times and just taking too many shots.

The stoppage was wrong but the ending was inevitable. Calzaghe was well on his way to winning and would have won by stoppage in the third. I felt a bit robbed, to be honest with you, as I felt the fight would have been really great if it had continued

That was a great fight Calzaghe on the canvas for the first time in his career and a awesome comeback. Stoppage maybe alittle early but i'm sure it was for the good of Mitchell.
