  • Comments Thread For: Stiverne-Wilder Getting Close, Details For Fight Loom

Deontay Wilder’s co-manager Jay Deas is confident that a deal to face WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KOs) could be finalized as early as this week. Wilder (32-0, 32 KOs) and his team are waiting for information regarding the date and venue.

Deas, who manages Wilder's career with Al Haymon, hopes the fight is made sooner than later. The negotiations have been dragging out for a months and several scheduled purse bid dates have been postponed. Everything appears to be getting wrapped up and now Deas expects to receive the details.

The date itself stands a chance of being pushed back to a date in 2015, given the late point in the year and the booked up schedule of venues and lack of TV dates. Deas hopes the fight happens this year, in December. [Click Here To Read More]

I very much doubt the fight will happen this year.

A few weeks ago they said November, now they are saying December.

I think it won't happen until the spring of 2015 at the earliest.

Credible sources have been saying December for months.

It seems you struggle figuring out which sources are credible and which sources are not.

        Let's make a bet.

If the fight happens this year, I'll put Wilder in my avatar for a full month.

If it doesn't, you put Povetkin in your avatar for a full month.

        Deal?

It would be nice to have a big fight to look forward to at the end of the year. Hope it happens in December.

I'll do a sig bet. Wilder Stiverne happens by Jan 2015. If I win, you put the Soviet Union flag in your sig, if you win, I will put Chris Algieri or Tommy Karpency in my sig, your choice.

                  Deal?

No, it's better if I put one of your favorite boxers in my sig if I lose, and you put one of mine if I win.

Bet: fight won't happen in 2014.

My favorite fighters: Kovalev, Povetkin, Pulev, Beterbiev, Golovkin

Yours are: Mayweather, Broner, Wilder, Hopkins, Ward
