How often do people scream for a fifth fight? I hear people saying Froch and Kessler don't need a rematch when they've fought half the amount of times as Pacquiao and Marquez, and the fourth would be the rubber match.
Sport if filled with close matches, or matches ending in knockouts, where no one demands a rematch. I notice that it is only an issue when the fans take the loss personally e.g. Lennox v Klitschko and Mattyhsse vs Garcia. When an individual like Abril actually gets robbed, pressure isn't placed on Rios to have a second fight.
At the end of the day, they fought 4 times. The fourth fight was billed as their last. Marquez knocked Pacquiao, brutally, putting an end to their story.

Love how every Marquez thread turns into a Pacquiao fan therapy session where all the disgruntled fanboys cry and make excuses. JMM is 4-0 against Manny with a brutal KO to end their rivalry, nothing else to prove there.

JMM never had the power before to do that to anyone, but beings he was with the PED GREAT, as an OLD FIGHTER he found the speed and HULK like POWER.
Lance found a way to do the steriods and it was undetectable for a long time, but it always finds it way to the surface.
Pimples, huge muscles in 8 weeks etc............you cannot hide.
Better just walk away because you have been found out. GO hide somewhere.

Well according to Marquez, he's been robbed in every fight besides the Floyd fight... so he has to lose 12-0 in order to admit he's lost a fight...
He was dropped in the first two Pac fights, and then he brought in Memo... end of discussion...
Marquez's legacy will be centered by his change in physique under Memo and the photos of the acne on his body...

The GREAT MEXICAN WARRIOR ya'll. What a joke. A PED infested 40 year old hooks up with admitted steroid supplier and for the first time in his career knows down Pacquiao and then knocks him out unconscious lol.
Not a lucky punch... But he can't do it again doe. He swears it wasn't luck doe.
He begged Pacquiao for rematches, Pacquiao gave him 2 and as soon as he lands that lucky freak punch he runs for the hills. Come on man, what a sissy.
And how is a perfectly timed counter "lucky" , the reason Manny crashed to the floor is because he got caught while rushing in, so the force of the punch met his face running towards it and lights out. Nothing lucky there.Last edited by elishua F; 10-15-2014, 11:43 PM.

I can see both sides of this argument.
On one hand, Manny kept giving Marquez the opportunity to get a win against him. Before Pac gave him a 4th fight, JMM's record against him was 0-2-1. Manny didn't have to give him another fight beyond the second one.
On the other hand, both sides agreed that the 4th fight was the final chapter. They were both clearly going balls to the wall for a KO, unlike the 3rd fight which was more measured and tactical. JMM caught Pac slipping when he was broken, bloody, and on the verge of his corner stopping the fight. He ended the series as conclusively as any fighter could.
So you can argue that JMM should give Manny a chance to avenge his one loss just like how Manny gave him a chance to avenge his 2 losses. But you can also argue that the book on that all time great rivalry is closed for good. I'm happy either way- if they have another fight, EVERYONE will be glued to their TV/computer screen even the typical whiners who will talk negatively about the matchup. Their worst fight would be highlight reel material for most guys. But if Marquez sticks to his guns, then I'm thankful I got the opportunity to watch their legendary clashes.
