Last Saturday night in Cancun, Cornelius "K9" Bundrage dethroned champion Carlos Molina to take the IBF light middleweight title. The 41-year-old (35-5 19KOs) was not fazed by a partisan home crowd and dropped Molina in the first and tenth rounds to regain the title he lost last year. Bundrage took the fight 115-110, 116-109 and 117-106 to become the oldest man to even win a world title in the 154lbs division.
Bundrage now wants a crack at Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) and claims his promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, had been protecting the fighter in the past. He now hopes Golden Boy will allow the fight to happen.
