Good, very good. I am loving this. All the top fighters need to ignore this sissy and he'll be forgotten into the depths of boxing hell where he belongs. His career is over.
The networks don't want it! I've been saying this for years now. It has nothing to do with any fighter be it Mexican, Puerto Rican, British, or Asian being afraid of Rigo or any other Cuban fighters.
It is the networks that are weary and don't want to pay top dollar to broadcast Cuban fighters.. And it's not as if they haven't gotten the opportunity. Rigo has headlined on HBO, Barthelemy just headlined on Showtime, Abril got the opportunity to headline on Showtime after his fight with Rios. THEY HAVE GOTTEN PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITIES. The problem is when they get there, they put everyone to sleep. People change the channel or leave the arena before the fights are even over. What network, what promoter, what arena wants to pay to have a main even where people don't watch?
Yes, I understand that boxing is the sweet science, but boxing is also entertaining. If you're going to ask your subscribers to sit in on a Saturday night and watch boxing, instead of late college football, baseball or anything else, you better entertain. You better put on a show.
Despite what my buddy Racostaa says here, you don't need to be a mindless brawler to entertain. Miguel Cotto, Carl Froch, Manuel Marquez, Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Donaire, and many, many others in boxing aren't just mindless brawlers, but they manage entertain.
Until Cuban fighters do this, you'll continue to see Cuban fighter after Cuban fighter being skipped over for bigger, better, more luxuriou$$$ fights.
Rigo needs to move up to featherweight where the action is. The featherweight division is happening. 122 is boring right now. Rigo needs to challenge himself and move up.

he is doing it, that is why johnny is saying no...

This is where you're wrong. Rigo IS entertaining... He neutralizes the offense and punch output of really good fighters... How is THAT not entertaining? Our sport culture can find getting a touch down "entertaining" or sinking a basketball, but can't find a FIGHTER seamlessly outclassing other fighters, with extraordinary athleticism, entertaining... yeah, something is very, very wrong...
Why isn't this type of athleticism appreciated and non-combat sport athleticism appreciated even though the "players"(read: not fighters) aren't subject to the same level of danger... EVEN THOUGH we live in a nation(the US) that is supposed to be all hyper-masculine always on the war path....
But boxing isn't popular... Holy disconnect batman...
The fact that some no name in the NFL or NBA is making more money than Rigo is unforgivable

Who's going to give him a title shot? He's better off staying put because those belts are the only bargaining chips he has.
