Former champion Daniel Geale is set to trade punches with his countryman, Jarrod Fletcher, on a date in December in Sydney.

According to the West Australian, they will collide for the IBF's regional Pan Pacific middleweight title at the Horden Pavilion on a pay-per-view card that is going to feature three Australian title fights.

Both fighters are coming off knockout defeats. Geale (30-3) was knocked out in the third round by WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin at New York's Madison Square Garden. A few weeks later at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Fletcher (18-2) was blasted out in five by Danny Jacobs in a battle for the vacant WBA 'regular' belt.

Great to see these two warriors getting right back into it after shocking defeats. Geale fought relatively well until getting caught with that big right hand by GGG. A win over Fletcher who is a solid opponent will make him relevant again.

Geale isn't going to get relevant beating an opponent who got KO'd early in his only important fight. This fight will make money in Oz, but Geale will only get relevant facing a top 20 guy, which Fletcher is not
