The three judges seated ringside at Bally’s Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, scored the six-round bout 59-53, 60-52, and 60-52. Reed dropped Charles in round two, and later in the fight, the referee deducted a point from Charles for repeatedly spitting out his mouthpiece. Reed’s record is now 11-0, with 6 KOs. Charles, a last minute opponent replacement, saw his record drop to 10-11-1, 1 KO.
