I think a Canelo vs. K9 fight would benefit Cotto.

If Canelo takes the I.B.F. title from K9 then Cotto vs. Canelo can be done at a catchweight of 157 pounds (Which benefits Cotto more) for the I.B.F. title at 154 and the W.B.C. title at 160.

Without the I.B.F. title involved, Canelo/the media/the fans will want a Cotto vs. Canelo fight at the full 160 pounds, which benefits Canelo.

Fight does absolutely nothing for Cotto aside from keeping him busy. No thanks. I can't hate on K-9 cause he's doing what he's supposed to do but i'm tired of seeing him fight. Can't believe i'm saying that about a fighter.

this is how i feel as well. cotto is a great fighter and he has always fought top notch competition. as his career winds down it would be ****** to waste fights entirely, especially if it means basically killing the momentum from his last fight which taking a fight nobody wants to see kind of does in a way.

It was supposed to be Cotto-Bundrage in Brooklyn last year and Showtime turned down the fight so Cotto took his talents back to HBO and fought Rodriguez. Now is the perfect time to do the fight as a tune up before Canelo.

People may say Canelo its Dangerous because he has power and can hit but to be able to hit someone you need a target, something thats not constantly moving lol Cotto can easily take Canelo to boxing School for a third time!.. i say third time because Floyd took his ass to Boxing 101, Lara took Canelo to boxing 102 and his about to learn his lesson from boxing 103 and his still not going to learn anything lol... a fight its not won by running, its won by boxing which is hit and dont get hit and if you have to use the whole ring to accomplish that then call it running all you want but thats boxing.. theirs different type of fighters.. you have true technical boxers, example like Lara and champ Mayweather, then you have those that are more around 70% technical and 30% brawler like Cotto... then you have fighters like manny and marquez that are counter boxers and brawlers at the same time and can get somewhat technical from time to time..and then you have just brawlers that just want to fight toe to toe with a punching bag for 12 rounds like Canelo..

cotto should fight on march k9 and then fight canelo in june and drop the 160 title. the wbc is forcing ggg vs canelo. cotto should stay at 154.
