    Anthony Joshua vs Tony Thompson

Would Tony Thompson kill another British heavyweight prospects career again or would Joshua be able to do what David Price couldn't do.

Or is it too risky even for next year?

way too soon. given the time to develop, joshua could beat thompson easily. he's lightyears beyond thompson as an athlete.

if they fought tomorrow, thompson would be the favorite, and owuld probably win the fight.

Agreed if it was this year. Was thinking end of 2015 or is that even too soon?

        This ^^^^^^.

Calm down, guys. AJ looks great, but he's not ready for Thompson!

if joshua gets in there with durable opponents, and has several fights in the interim, i'd be comfortable with him fighting thompson next year.

win, lose, or draw, tony goes home and breaks his wife's hip.

if moved properly, i think he can beat thompson in late 2015 without a ton of fuss.

joshua is 24. that's a baby in HW terms. i don't see any reason to rush the kid. if he's getting fed bums for several years, the way wilder was, eventually it will hurt his development.

we haven't even seen his 25th birthday. HW need time to grow, and learn how to use their gigantic bodies. they peak later in life. modern HW are mostly doing their best work in their 30's. they also have a much bigger pot of gold to look forward to at the end of that rainbow.

i like how joshua is being moved. branded and moved properly, this kid could make carl froch look like junior whitter.

next up is an american journeyman, and a fight in the US on our TV. dominick guinn, are you reading this? feed him some decent journeymen, mix in a tougher fighter sparingly, and wait to make a step up in late 2015.

I was thinking about Dom Guinn (and Thompson) as a potential future opponent for Joshua. Guinn is a durable guy that will give Joshua some rounds and will make him have to work for the KO - which I think he does.

Kevin Johnson's also a good 'safe' opponent for Anthony. He needs to be in with some durable boxers who are gonna show him different looks with higher skill levels

If Joshua could stop Kevin Johnson then that would be impressive. He is very durable and will defiantly give him the rounds he needs unless Joshua is that insanely good that he actually finishes him early somehow.

I think that Joshua's youth and athleticism would get him over the line against Thompson now who is way over the hill.

A prime Thompson would have clowned current Joshua easily though.

Wach would be a good test for Joshua. He's a big, tall, hard-punching HW with an iron chin. He would definitely give Joshua rounds.
