Is Anthony Joshua a potential contender or champion

Lets put it in perspective. He is 9 fights in and he has already fought, beat and destroyed better competition than Deontay Wilder....and I like Wilder, no hate.Comment

As to the thread question, Joshua looks like he has some awesome potential. He seems to have the stature and look of a Lennox Lewis - a big tall rangey hw with decent boxing skill, good power and killer instinct.
I think it's too early to say if he'll make it to the top of the heap of decent division right now. Throw Joshua in with Tony Thompson and see how he doesComment

Joshua is easily the best up-and-coming heavyweight. He seems to be a well-rounded fighter: size, speed, technical skills, power, reach, footwork, etc. He still needs a bit of work on his defense.
There's a very good chance he will become the next heavyweight champion after Wladimir retires (the real champion, not just a titleholder).Comment

What a cynical bitter pathetic poster you seem to be. Joshua just beat a decent fringe contender in incredibly impressive fashion in his 9th fight and you **** on?

IMO
Joshua is the heir apparent to wlad... Them sparring together when one is a prospect and the other is the veteran champion, it reminds me of Larry Holmes sparring with Ali.. And just how Larry took over after Ali, I think Joshua will take over for wlad...
I could be dead wrong, but I predict in 2018 Joshua will be the money man in the division and at least a paper champComment

Joshua is comfortable, strong and fast. He has more than enough to be a champ in a couple of years. I say let his mind and body mature and by 27 he'll be a force to be reckoned with in the division. By then Wlad should be on his way out and Joshua has more than enough talent to take that spot. How long Joshua will be champ is the major question.Comment
