Taylor v quillin or Jacobs.

I had kinda assumed it'd be Taylor vs the winner of a Jacobs - Quillin matchup, but with only a 4 month window, there ain't a whole lotta time left to make 2 fights, especially since there's not yet been any announcement on Quillin vs Jacobs (I was half expecting one yesterday or today).

But yeah. It's almost certain to be one of the two. I'm leaning towards Quillin after Haymons apparent promises to him about a 'big fight'. It'd look bad if he didn't follow through.

Former middle Champion Jermain Taylor capped a remarkable comeback by taking the IBF 160lb title from Australia's Sam Soliman, 40, via a lopsided decision in Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, Mississippi last night—scores of 116-111, 115-109, and 116-109 from Fred Steinwinder III, Alfredo Polanco and David Taranto respectively. Taylor, 33-4-1 (20), floored Soliman, 44-12 (18), five times en route to the win, although some of the knockdowns appeared to be down to a leg injury sustained by Soliman, who had balance issues throughout.

Taylor dominated Soliman, mercilessly dropping him time and time again.

Sensationalism followed by a more accurate version of the event. Made me laugh.

Anyway, will be interesting to see who his next opponent is. Wouldnt suprise me if the plan is to fight Quillin in January. Maybe not as much time as an old Taylor would like to prepare but he owes Al one.

The "plan" could have been prevented if Soliman won. But he didn't, so blame him not Haymon.

If Quillin beats Taylor (who beat Bernard Hopkins) I think without a doubt Quillin should be top 5 pound 4 pound, probably even top 3 once Ward is dropped. Hall of Fame career nearly. I mean he already beat Winky Wright, adding Taylor to his resume would just be amazing. If he can get Pavlik later, dare we start saying All Time Great?

I hope your joking, Taylor is a shell of his former self and honestly had a lot of technical flaws even in his prime. The 2 Bernard fights were close and honestly I think hopkins was having trouble making 160 at that stage. Anyhow winky in his prime would easily UD quillin. beating old winky , way past it Taylor , and drunk pavlik hardly makes an ATG .....oh and the pavlik that koed Taylor would do the same to quillin

Im thinking most likely quillin. Quillin vs jacobs at brooklyn is the fight they/Al Haymon have been wanting since its a "money" fight.

I think it could be Taylor v Jacobs, then Jacobs v N'Dam. Quillin to fight the winner.
