Cotto isnt a clutch boxer, he doesnt come up big in big moments. i think he'll have some success with Canelo based on his boxing ability but he'll ultimately wilt under the pressure.

Canelo by TKO. Cotto will be 34 at the end of the month while Canelo will only be 24, nearing 25 once fight night comes. I think Canelo has the advantage on many levels. Canelo will just be too much for Cotto. No way Cotto will be able to go 12 rounds with Canelo and I don't see Cotto stopping Canelo.

I'm favoring Canelo but Cotto has a damn good shot and I'm expecting him to come fully prepared. It's weird because, while I am a fan of Canelo, there is a part of me that wants to see Cotto win.

Miguel is all wrong for him stylistically

alvarez doesnt have the footwork to deal with cotto's offensive nor defensive tactics

his cement feet cant deal with Miguel's ambushing combos

he cant cut a ring off well enough to avoid being picked off by cotto's jab

to make it sweeter Miguel can hit to the body, and alvarez has a lack of stamina

You make a real good point with the body work of Cotto and lack of stamina from Canelo. However, I do see Cottos' ambushes working against him because Canelo is quick with his short counters when people go into him.

Another question mark (possibly) would be Canelo's chin. We know more or less how well Cotto stands up to punches but I'm not sure we've seen how Canelo does. Yes, there was Jose Cotto but I'm pretty sure Canelo was like 19. Anyway, I don't recall seeing hurt since then but it could just have to do with not facing a real puncher since then, with the exception of Angulo.

Overall, an extremely good, close fight. Really hard to choose a definitive winner, but if I had to put my money on it I would say Canelo.

Fresher, with faster hand speed, good power, and very quick counters. If he wins, I believe these attributes will be the main reasons.
