I think that's a little overblown. He played well tonight. Pitched 6 solid innings where he only gave up one hit before he got tired and fell apart a little in the 7th. Still, giving up 3 runs is not terrible. Especially when two of the "hits" he gave up were balls that bounced off his teammates' gloves.

He was going to become a boring clinch machine like Andre Ward and how Amir Khan is becoming. It's sad to see. Good move by Abner IMO.

That was quick lol. I liked the old Mares anyway. He just needed to fight a bit smarter.

I suspect that Hunter's only "guilt" in being considered one of the most reputable names in boxing resulted from training the highly intelligent and gifted Andre Ward...
Unfortunately for Hunter, Ward owes so little to his trainer -- any trainer...

When did Mares start using Hunter as his trainer? I'm asking so I can look at the fights where he was under Hunter, and compare them to his fights from before he trained with Hunter.

Glad to hear cause he would've been wus. Just like El Pero was turned into a poodle, and Khan I'm still trying to figure that one out but don't like it.

Bro, he gave up the go ahead HR. In an elimination game. It's not just "3 hits" in 7 innings. That's a good way to mask a choke job.

1-5 in post season, with an over 5 ERA.

                    You do the dishes.
