That's debatable.....but I'm okay with Cotto calling the shots. Revenue might suggest otherwise.

My buddy at the office and I were having the same discussion last week. If Cotto fights late Jan or even Feb...then it would not be enough time for him to fight again early May.

lol Cotto was the a side against Martinez the linal mw champion he will also be the a side against canelo...canelo is a hype bag to be honest.......who has he really beat?? could not knock out a old Mosley, could not knock out Hatton and it was not even Ricky..in my eyes lost to Lara

Cotto knows that the PR-Mex rivalry will gross the most in May. Whether he calls the shots or not, he's not dumb

arum him self said before that the best date for canelo-cotto is 5 de mayo weekend... hell cotto even fought margo on 5 de mayo cuz he knows there is more money on that date...
so if the fight ends up on 5 de mayo that means canelo calls the shots???
who cares about the A-side divas, lets just get the fight done, is about time...
and if cotto doesnt accept canelos offer again then there is chavez jr or pacquiao...

Are you forgetting that Cotto/Alvarez is almost certainly going to happen unless one of them is an idiot or loses a fight beforehand?

If Alvarez and Golden Boy are talking May, then Cotto's almost certainly okay with it.

I agree. Cotto calls the shots, but they will fight in May. It makes the most sense.

The fight will be at MW (yes 155 is MW, Canelo fought at MW in his last 2 fights with Lara and Angulo) Cotto holds a belt at MW.

Cotto will make the demands and Canelo will agree, Cotto won't let Canelo call the shots.
