Comments Thread For: Photos: Jhonny Gonzalez Beats Down, Retires Jorge Arce

Los Mochis, Mexico - World Boxing Council (WBC) featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez beat down former four division world champion Jorge Arce for eleven rounds before the fight was finally stopped. Arce, who didn't have the size or the power to be a serious threat, was dropped numerous times and busted up during the fight. Gonzalez will now be looking for a major fight in 2015. Arce, who retired last year and returned to boxing in order to capture another world title, once again announced his retirement from the sport and claims this time he won't return to the ring at any cost.

    Groundhog Day.

I wish we'd never have to hear about Arce again. Ever. But that's just not gonna happen. Can't stand him. :yuck:

Gonzalez needs bigger things happening than this.

This was a complete waste of time. Nonito embarrassed him a lil while ago. I said I never wanted to see him again after that. We came back, beat a few bums and got a title fight. Lol

To hear his trainer tell it, Gonzalez abused a mental case. Arce's only chance was in his own head. Jhonny has a doubt/greed problem, hungry late, not a sure bet, wants to get paid for his belt problem. Walter, Nonito, Filipino, Japanese problem too.
