I mean, with the exception of Jones vs Griffin 1, he pretty much went a stretch of looking completely unbeatable for NINE YEARS. There isn't a single fighter I can think of that consistently dominated his opponents in such shocking fashion so consistently. And before anyone starts throwing out the PED accusations, I think if the last few years have shown us anything, it's that most of these guys realistically are on some PEDs of some sort. Keep in mind Richard Hall tested for 10x as much in his system as Jones did that night.. how much did it help him? We know Toney was also caught -- how did that work out for him against Jones?

I doubt we see a force like Jones again for a long, long time. If ever.

You can't throw out the fact that he was on ped's....that destroyed his legacy IMO.

I don't know much about Roy Jones' career, can you give me a run down of notable wins?

Being serious, not trolling. Never paid much attention to him while I was growing up.

Hopkins and Toney are great wins against two ATG's but we don't really know how great Roy Jones jr is because he has a history of ped use.

He beat Hopkins and Toney. Go down the list of the top 10 LHWs every year during his time in the division and he beat most of them.

That's understandable. Aside from the obvious victories over Hopkins and Toney (both convincing), Jones has some very underrated victories over either previous or future champions like Thulani Malinga (who would go on to beat both Nigel Benn and Robin Reid), Reggie Johnson (Legit LHW titleholder), Virgil Hill (one of the craziest Bodyshot stoppages), Richard Hall (gave Dariusz Michalczewski a tough fight in Germany), John Ruiz at HW, eric Harding, Clinton Wood, etc.

The thing I really want to emphasize here is not just that he beat these guys, he beat them BADLY. Embarrassingly. Even if you want to say that the guy was guilty of fighting weak opposition (and I disagree with that), you see plenty of his contemporaries fighting weak opposition, too, but they aren't nearly as dominant in practice as he was.

Even GGG has had his moments of looking "human" though (see: the Ouma fight for example, and Rosado had some success). Roy looked pretty much untouchable for almost a decade.
