Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez's Trainer Eyes Kell Brook in 2015

Nacho Beristain, trainer of former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs), says his fighter will sit out for the remainder of 2014 and then focus on a welterweight world title shot in the first half of 2015.

Marquez will soon return to the Romanza Gym in Mexico to begin the process of getting his body in shape and keeping his reflexes sharp.

Typical Mexican Weasels; Still Looking For A Weak Link For A '47 Belt

They wouldn't fight Shawn Porter for his belt when he had it; Porter scared off Marquez after destroying Paulie Mags in quick fashion. They begged for Bradley to give them a rematch, and when Bradley chose Pacquiao, they begged for Bradley to win. He lost. Pacquiao offered Marquez the biggest payday of his career, TAX FREE fifth fight in Macau, China and Marquez said, "Give me $20M", which they knew nobody can give JMM that kind of money...which means he doesn't want to fight Pacquiao, because Nacho & Marquez know how lucky they were to escape the 4th fight. Marquez wouldn't fight Provo when Provo called him out; and fought Alvarado instead, who Provo destroyed. Now that Porter lost to Brook, they size up Brook, Pacquiao, Mayweather all with '47 belts and are rolling the dice Brook might be the least experienced, the weakest link to a belt. Just gutless. Brook holds all the cards; if Marquez wants his belt that bad, go fight Brook in Wembley Stadium, and get knocked out! Funny how they wanted no part of Shawn Porter, but now they want Brook.

Bad fight for JMM. He should've fought Porter when he had the chance.

Porter is a winnable fight for Juan, Brook I don't think so.

This will be good, have a feeling Brook will take it though, but it would be a nice check list on his resume, even if JMM is in his twilight years.

No way Brook knocks out Marquez, In fact I'd pick Marquez to win.
