Oh wow... Another delusional dude who follows in the footsteps of Winky Wright & Andre Ward. He turned down the fight because he wasn't going to get the Peter Quillin money.....

Demetrius talks he wants to be the best, says he's the best, then turns down opportunities with nothing on the table. Stay nothing man. Go fight on NBC sports next year with Ishe Smith, Lara, Charlo's, and Molina. Too many prima donna's in the sport these days. This guy has proved nothing and expects big money already. Take a note from a guy you criticize in Golovkin. Guy takes short money to build his brand and soon will be the next money maker in the sport.

      Good post dude,, totally agree

Ggg and cotto circa 03-06 stayed busy and built their name by being active and exposed to the masses

Andrade is already a world champion at 154 and he hasn't even defended it yet. Korobov is not some huge opportunity that would do wonders for his career. It's risky not specifically because Korobov per se. It's risky because it's new weight class. He has every right not take any random fight in a weight class he hasn't fought in. Winky Wright comparison is silly because Wright turned down huge mega fights, not the Korobov of the world. The only guy at fault here is his promoter for not telling him ahead of time. Andrade did not ask for the fight.

          Surprisingly, he's not with Haymon.

True but Andrade isn't a star... To be a star you gotta take fights,, Lara fighting a guy like Molina did nothing for him but gave him exposure.. Korobov is one of those fights.. Same thing with cotto vs Torres.. These aren't big money fights but they are important in building your resume and name...

I say Wright because it's not just about money it's about opportunity. Demetrius has little going for him in terms of good options. Almost all of 154 is with Haymon, and even then those aren't lucrative fights. Andrade's not getting a Alvarez or Cotto. He's not even getting a Kirkland. HBO won't pay him what he considers good money for a lot the other remaining JMW's. He needs an opportunity if he's going to advance his career, instead he's making a decision like Wright & Ward and he's going to stagnate and miss out fulfilling his potential.

Yeah he's defended, that Brian Rose mismatch was his first defense. As for the size thing, Demetrius is a big JMW. They talked years ago about his weight cutting process not being ideal. Back when he trained with Virgil, Virgil said in about three years he'd expect Andrade to be at MW. And his style negates some of that anyways. I suppose he should stay at JMW where he can enjoy both a speed & size advantage over his opponents.... He's been talking like he's hungry for opportunity, then he drops it. Every fight he takes is supposed to be dangerous. If he's fighting on HBO for hundreds of thousands, he better be at risk for a loss. He's got talent, he was the only guy out of Quillin, Saunders, and Lee that I would pick over Korobov. Too bad he lacks courage and/or brains.

He could fight essentially anybody and have the same effect as fighting Korobov. Is 2 months going to really cost a 25 year old. Golovkin is 32 and really how far ahead is he of Andrade.

That fight against the English guy was a mandatory defense, Vanes was for the vacant belt.

2 months really isn't gonna matter, but korobov is a legit fight, plus it's for a vacant belt...
No one else is bringing a belt to the table for Andrade..

Ggg is so far ahead of Andrade... Ggg is headlining hbo shows, doing big numbers and is an emerging superstar.. Andrade is a guy that just went from prospect to paper champ and isn't anywhere near headline yet
