What I don't understand is, why is Haymon paying them money? Isn't it common practice for a Network to BUY what they are going to air?

Al Haymon is trying to save boxing.
Eve had her imaginations on what would happen if she ate the apple. People make all kind of promises; the trick is identifying which of those promises are legally binding, and under what circumstance, and how much it would cost them to renege on their promises.

If HBO won't work with Haymon fighters and Showtime will only work with them so long as they sign exclusive network deals, then who can blame him for trying to create a third option that benefits him and the fighters he manage? Regardless of how people feel about Haymon, you can expect to see more fighters running to get on board with Al "The Boogieman" Haymon. He is on his way to becoming an unstoppable freight train in the boxing world.

If he actually puts on competitive fights and not what he's been doing, then awesome.

LOL at Showtime though...HBO was already out of his equation

Pacquiao KOs everyone on Haymon's roster in under 8 rounds including Mayweather who gets that Tarver-Roy Jones 2 treatment
LMAO ^^^^ this guy is smoking that good crack Pac hasn't had a KO for a long time and Mayweather would make Pac look like an amateur worse than Pac's daddy Marquez. ****** Pacduckiao fans. If Algeri beats Pac convincingly Pac will fall into obscurity and this talk of May and Pac fight will die forever along with Pacfangirls.

I dont see it working for the simple fact that boxing is an unorganized mess. You have fighters that fight on this network and not on that network. You have fighters who wont fight fighters from other promotional companies. etc.

Try explaining to a casual who wants to see an HBO fighter fight on network television that it will never happen because Haymon has only HIS fighters fighting on NBC. It'll be like wanting to see the Yankees play the redsox but because of behind the scene politics it will never happen. Boxing will not prosper as a whole until its governed like every other mainstream sport.
