I also have to refer to the standards being displayed by the IBHOF over the years.

If guys like Arturo Gatti, Barry McGuigan and a few others are included, I really can't see why Hamed shouldn't also be there.

He should be without question, was the king of 126 and the lineal champ when MAB fought him. i give MAB props, for actually fighting with Naz, unlike Tapia and JMM who for some reason turned down the biggest paydays not to fight him.

I think that was a combination of Money and indifference to the sport. Naz had boxed since the age of seven, earned more than he needed and simply walked away in the prime of his life. Why not?

        His accomplishments warrant an entry.

It's laughable that Gatti is in and Naz isn't.

This is a thread about Naz, not Mayweather.

i have naseem hamed ranked in my top 20 best fighters of all time. it's a shame that the US media fails to recognize all time greats like hamed and wlad.

There isn't enough to justify that placement for Naz but still plenty of room to recognize how good he was.

I really enjoyed Naseem Hamed. IMO he is a HOF'er given how good he was in the ring and the increased visibility he gave to lower weight fighters. His showmanship, power and arrogance made every fight an event.

I havent read the article, but I cant see how any reasonable person that was around the sport in the 90's wouldnt think Hamed deserves to be in the HOF.
