    What Was JuanMa Lopez Downfall?

Ive been watching JuanMa lopez fights as of late and He could have been such a monster, has a great chin, real power, fresh on his legs but IMO is he needed a real trainer. All that raw unpolished talent can only get you so far and it got him to the top but couldent keep him their, under the proper trainer he could have lead a great lil legacy instead of being KO Jesus Christ Style.

You pretty much answered your own question. He needed a world class trainer and also needed to get away from home, he used to balloon between fights.

      What happened to Juanma?

      Salido did.

However, what were the causes behind his losses to Salido?

      - Dirt poor corner
      - No defense
      - Lack of composure (once Juanma got hit, he went into zombie mode)

What happened because of those three things?

      - Loss of punch resistance (self explanatory)
      - Loss of motor skills (reflexes / timing / etc)
      - Loss of mental faculties (reasoning / logic)

And a fighter cannot be successful inside a ring without those.

Fell in love with his power and never polished his skills.

          As already stated: SALIDO!!!!

JuanMa's problem is that he wasn't clear when to brawl, when to coast and more importantly, when to hold or add distance. When JuanMa gets rocked, he tries to fight back immediately, instead of accessing his status. If your head is still spinning from a good shot, put some distance between you and your opponent or hold ... don't try to slug your way out of danger. Perhaps JuanMa's "falling in love with his power" was a factor as well. Because he always thought that he would be saved by that power shot, no matter the circumstance.

This characteristic is evident in all his fights, but it really became a liability to him when he faced Salido I & II, and he was never the same since.

BTW: JuanMa vs Salido I & II are two of my favorite fights to re-watch.

No defense especially no head movement and salido was able to ruin him because of it..

OrNandrolone Salido has a suspect history with Nandrolone. Tainted heroics.

                    His downfall was his style.
Guys who are brawlers sooner or later get caught, get broken and eventually become shot. Happened to Arce, Morales, Angulo, and others.

It's their downfall, but also what makes them the exciting fighters we love to watch.

Lopez was a pleasure to watch, while he lasted.
