Comments Thread For: Chemito Moreno Submits Petition For Payano Rematch

Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno is putting his decision to move up to 122-pounds on hold, as he formally requested a direct rematch against the new World Boxing Association bantamweight 118 lbs champion, Dominican Juan Carlos Payano.

A letter by Team Moreno was addressed to the Championships Committee headed by Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, WBA vice-president.

Good. It sucks when a champion, especially one that has reigned as long as Chemito loses his title due to a technical decision from cuts. He should avenge this "loss" and then challenge Rigo at 122.

A technical decision warrants a rematch. Nothing was proved conclusively in the first fight.
