ANY of the REAL ATG fighters will tell you that if Floyd jr. fought in their era, he would be "just another fighter"... a nobody, really. He wouldn't be undefeated because he wouldn't have been able to cherry pick tailor-made opponents as much as he can today. He would have HAD to fight the BEST to be considered the BEST. He also wouldn't have lucked out and caught Oscar at the right time to steal his thunder, which is really the only reason he made it big in this era.

Wow!!! I'm one of the biggest Mayweather fans out.... But wow!!! That was not nearly the same Sugar Ray who fought Camacho. Sugar Ray was in great physical shape as I can remember, but he could not throw a punch to save his life. That was a sad day for me because I knew that a few years earlier, maybe even a year earlier, he would of dismantled Camacho. Sugar Ray's built his legacy on his speed and he had none. Watch the fight and then watch him against some of his previous opponents.

A prime Sugar Ray vs a prime Mayweather would of been a great fight. Its too bad that fighters primes are at different ages and last longer than others. Mayweather should be losing fights by now, but he's still winning. It may not be as decisive as they used to be, but he's still winning. Sugar Ray prime left a lot earlier, especially since he went through a major eye injury which caused him to retire, not to mention he retired from boxing several times. The inactivity definitely took away from Leonard's prime and possibly his legacy, but still one of the all-time greats.

Saw Sugar Ray's fight against Mayweather Sr. on Youtube about a year ago and he clowned Sr. lol. Made him look like he didn't know ish about boxing.

        wow

Now when Ray Leonard says its been too long, you need to fight, you know there is a problem.

        Quite Ironic.

Boxing need to get over both these guys. I will continue to watch both of them because Im a fan. Im tired of the whole drama.

        Who really cares ne more

[/QUOTE]Great post(uniquehump) man and i agree but my point is that duran hagler leonard and hearns made their legacy fighting each other they had over40 fight individually and people only remember them for those fights on the other hand mayweather has had a lot more fights that people can say "i remember that fight" example Castillo 1 and 2 hatton corrales hernandez de la hoya mosley maidana 1 and 2 the sucker punch on ortiz embarrassing canelo but people are alwas going to hate saying those opponents were to old or too green or past their primes ANYWAY MONEY MAYWEATHER STILL THE BEST EVER

I have no problem with it, like I've already mentioned in an earlier post. Then he could follow it up with Danny Swift Garcia. Both of which are very easy to make and easy to promote. No signing up with TMT first, no Arum to deal with, the usual works. "Get it over with" kind of fights before retiring... Forget Paqciao, tons of headaches in that fight. Tons...

Any other names you have in mind other than Khan?

wow. you just compared De La Hoya, Maidana, and Mosley to Hagler, Hearns, & Duran. Floyd has the DUMBEST fans. This is proof of that.

De la hoya and mosely could be compared and mentioned in the same sentance as those great fighters of the past...de la hoya and mosely ducked no fighters and fought and lost to the best.!! Cant argue that because they simply were throwback fighters. Maidan though!???!??? Smdh on that one.

Sugar comes from an era where he simply cannot process the idea of a fighter with Maynevers credentials being afraid of another fighter to the point of endless excuses and downright cowardice
