A cruiserweight unification between Russian stablemates Grigory Drozd (39-1, 27 KOs) and Denis Lebedev (26-2, 20 KOs) is not likely to happen any time soon. Both boxers were involved in a doubleheader on Saturday in Moscow, Drozd capture the WBC title with a twelve round decision win over Krzysztof Wlodarczyk. Lebdev retained the WBA's version of the belt with a two round KO of Pawel Kolodziej.

So you have two world level cruiserweights, back to winning. Match them together, one of them has one more win, the other is coming off a potentially career ending loss - and the win doesn't really add that much on the big scale of things. In which case is the value of your portfolio higher?

Besides, Russians don't get the whole "Battle for England" thing that sells out Wembley. For them, it's like brothers fighting. Why fight each other if there's still plenty of fish in the sea? If they clean up the division and there's no-one else left , then they'll do it.
