    Comments Thread For: Hearn To Protest With WBO, Force Abraham's Hand

    Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is planning to file an appeal with the WBO to force super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham to present Paul Smith with a mandatory rematch.

    On Saturday night in Kiel, Abraham made a voluntary defense against Smith and won a wider than expected decision. Hearn called the scoring of the contest "disgusting." The judges saw it 117-111, 117-111 and 119-109 for the champion.

      Smith lost, great guy, wish him all the best in securing a rematch.

      As for Hearn he needs to go and go and fist himself the slimy rat bastàrd!

        So it's not just German judges that can't score then

            A forced rematches based on the decision of the first fight should be saved for cases in which the fighter who deserved to win didn't get the decision. Sure, the cards were too wide, but I thought Abraham won and many others did too, and in the media tally below 82 percent didn't have Smith winning.

            Even Hearn suggests had AA won a close decision they'd move on. I do

              No, clearly you can't score either if you think there's no case for an Abraham win. Or maybe you were just susceptible to SKY's pro-Smith cheerleading.

                fight was much closer than those scores.
                the judges names should be announced before and after fights.

                  I didn't say there was no case for Abraham winning. I was responding to the guy above who said Abraham "won most of the rounds". It was a close fight.

                    Most = more than half.

                    So a statement like 'AA won most of the rounds' could just equate to someone thinking AA won 7-5. If you it's reasonable for someone to see the fight as such I don't understand why you'd make that comment.
