  • Comments Thread For: Chemito Moreno Heading To 122, Not Payano Rematch

Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (35-3-1, 12 KO) is not looking for payback with Juan Carlos Payano (16-0, 9 KO). On Friday night in Mesquite, Texas, Payano captured Moreno's WBA bantamweight title with a six round technical decision. The fight was stopped early due to a severe cut suffered by Payano in the second round from a clash of heads. Moreno was making the thirteenth defense of the title he won from Wladimir Sidorenko in 2008. The scores were 59-55 and 58-56 twice, all for Payano.

That's shocking to me, I would have thought that he would want to rematch Payano for redemption, but I guess he wanted to move on to bigger and better things.

You know what this means no fluke here Payano beat him fare, from the sounds of it.

This was long overdue. He should have stayed after the Mares fight. He held a good account of himself and there is no shame in losing to Mares in a close, back and forth, entertaining fight.

But Rigo has an opponent now. Get it done.
