i never say maidana didn't fight thurman because he is a nobody, but because he needed a tune up, that's what they wanted, and in the first article, contursi said that he didn't know where this confirmation was coming from because they never agreed to it.

I didn't say you said that. In the article itself, Contursi said that they didn't know who Thurman was, which doesn't make any sense seeing how he ended up fighting an unknown Soto Karass.

It wasn't "years later". Thurman fought Soto Karass just ONE year after Maidana did and also right after Soto Karass's biggest win in his career (a KO win over Andre Berto). If anything, he was much more motivated when he fought Thurman than he was when he fought Maidana.
