I would put this on a Mayweather ppv Undercard if it gets made.

the proof is an article on NSB (in the previous page i think there is a link to it) that said that maidana wasn't set to fight thurman, keith was one of the options, but one time's fans will say that maidana withdrawn from a fight that was signed with 2 weeks to go.Comment

Actually, the fight was agreed. The article even says it, just that no contracts were drawn up.Comment

I would be genuinely impressed if One Time Thurman could last more than 7 rounds with a lion in Maidana, to keep it one hundred like a C-note.Welterweight puncher Keith Thurman (23-0, 21KOs) is interested in facing Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31KOs) next year. Maidana is taking the rest of the year off, after suffering back to back decision losses to Floyd Mayweather Jr., and wants to focus on major fights next year.
Thurman and Maidana was scheduled to face each other in July of 2012 on HBO. Maidana, unhappy with the fight, withdrew. Thurman instead faced and knocked out Orlando Lora in six rounds.

There was also previous article a month before that one where it said they did agree to a Maidana-Thurman match.
Seems like they really were working on it and then called it off.
What really throws me off (as well as many others) is claiming that Thurman is a nobody and they were looking for "big name fights", only to fight Soto Karass (who certainly isn't a "big name") so something isn't clear here.Comment

i never say maidana didn't fight thurman because he is a nobody, but because he needed a tune up, that's what they wanted, and in the first article, contursi said that he didn't know where this confirmation was coming from because they never agreed to it.There was also previous article a month before that one where it said they did agree to a Maidana-Thurman match.
