The Humanoid walks the Earth! WBO #8 rated light welterweight Aik "Humanoid" Shakhnazaryan (14-0, 5 KOs) has impressively scored a shutout unanimous over rugged but limited Argentinean Sergio Mauricio Gil (16-4-2, 11 KOs).
Shakhnazaryan has slowly been breaking Gil down all fight long. His right uppercut was a major weapon in the contest, allowing also a left hook to land right after it. Gil showed determination and durability to sustain prolonged punishment. However, he was unable to cope well with Aik's power twice in the fight - firstly, in the the midst of the fifth, when Shakhnazaryan dropped Gil on a fusilade of punches. Then again in the tenth, Aik has geared on with seconds remaining in the fight, and put the Argentinean down with yet another right hand. Gil has barely survived the remaining seconds of the bout. Scores were: 100-88, 100-88 and 100-89 - in favour of the Russia-based Armenian.
