there are plenty of areas in which he needs to improve but the mere fact that he got this far in such a short period of time shows he has an incredible learning curve. he is not only a natural athlete but a natural fighter, composed and methodical but with a real mean streak.
he seems to ave a ll the right people around him, his trainers are teaching him how to fight from the ground up starting with fundamentals rather than relying on his physicality too much.
he has a lot of improvements to make if he is to fulfill even the most modest expectations, but he has plenty of time to do it. im always going on about wilder and how he is so immensely talented but isnt doing the right things to fulfill his potential, joshua while very talented in his own right doesnt compare to wilder in that regard. but he is doing things the right way and i think he can fulfill his potential.
it will be very intriguing watching him progress. i hope he becomes champ, THE champ. it would be great for boxing and as a person he seems to deserve it, bright and legitimately humble guy.
Him and wlad sparring reminds me of when Ali used Holmes as a sparring partner.
By the time wlad retires, Joshua will be there to take the mantle.. I think after the wlad era, we will have the Joshua era and he will be a hall of famer, especially after he sells out wembley on a few occasions..
By 2017-18 he will be the money name at heavy
I think he will go pretty far. . . He does seem quite prone to injury though, so pending that of course. . . However if you watch interviews with him, he knows he has alot to learn, but has a nice sense of self confidence (mind you if you had that physique lol) . Early days but he's doing what has been asked of him so far.
He hasn't had a big occasion as a pro yet but i agree he is disciplined, great strength and eager to learn.
He kinda has man, been on big shows from the get go, sky tv in his face in the dressing room before he goes out, big expectations and hype can weigh on a young fighter but not him. After the Olympics, winning Gold in your own country no less, everything is on a smaller stage.
