That's what I was thinking. Stevens doesn't have a lot of room to talk. He boycotted for 2 years from 2010 & 2012 and fought just once in 2012. Then he fought a string of unknowns in 2013 before he talked his way into a fight with GGG for his belts, and got stopped. Now he finds himself in an elimination bout, after beating 2 more unkowns. After that is another title shot against the winner of Soliman vs Taylor. He looks like another rather undeserving candidate for a belt to me.

Because in a division that's about as popular as the Atlanta Thrashers, Jermaine Taylor (although shot, and over the hill) is still that biggest name not named GGG. Sadly.

That KO was by a middleweight champ, so your creditability does fall to far

I said Stevens is another undeserving title-contender. Taylor doesn't deserve it because he's been out of boxing while trying to convince licensing en****** that he's not brain-damaged. Stevens dismissed himself for 2 years while in a dispute with his promoter, fought some bums, talked some trash, and got a shot. He got his ass beat, fought some more bums and will soon get another shot. Don't worry though, if he manages to win the IBF belt, he will lose it if he attempts to unify.

                    good question, curtis.

taylor has name value, and is an easy target. he's totally shot. fighters can beat him easily, make some dough, and move on.

they can't do that with curtis stevens. he's obviously not a world beater, but he's got power, and is mentally willing. he's a greater risk than taylor, and offers a lower reward.

is showtime carrying this fight, or are you talking about "showtime" stevens?

i like stevens. he's got a good style for TV, and he does everything you ask of a fighter. he'd be a lot more dangerous if he could somehow make it to WW or JMW, because he's awfully short armed for a middleweight.

if you can believe it, stevens used to fight at 201 in the amateurs, and won the [us] national title in the amateurs, IIRC, at 178 lbs.
