  • Comments Thread For: Jeff Mayweather: Leonard Ellerbe Dropped The Ball

Trainer Jeff Mayweather, the uncle of Floyd Mayweather Jr., has continued to speak his mind on Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe.

In several recent interviews, Jeff criticized the work of Ellerbe as the company CEO.

Floyd Mayweather himself was critical of Ellerbe in an interview fight Fighthype.com, stating that he wasn't pleased with Ellerbe's work on the September 13th Showtime Pay-Per-View from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Floyd you aren't fooling me....now you get to stay the champion at 154 for another year...and didn't have to fight a 154lber to do it.

Dropped the ball? I thought the fight did 925K buys which was a big improvement over the first fight that Schaefer handled.

Funny that after such a successful card, Floyd is looking to get rid of Ellerbe after his first promotional job netted them Floyd's 2nd best buy rate under the Showtime deal. You would think they would be thrilled by the results.

And after such a great first stab at it, you would think Floyd would be eager to have Ellerbe steering the Mayweather Promotions ship as the lead promoter in the upcoming Pacquiao fight.

Strange that it all seems like doom and gloom on the Money Team after such great success

I think you're right. He just defended his JMM belt to a JWW/WW boxer. What a crap!
