I don't care about Floyd. There are thousands (well really hundreds but that's more than enough) of fights on youtube for me to watch. Fights that are legendary, epic battles, remembered by the people who were around to see them 50-60 years later. So much history to discuss with people in person who are older than me and grew up watching these guys I idolize and hearing them talk about how they remember certain fights..it's so cool to me. I watch modern and current fights a lot, too. Bernard Hopkins, I will watch the rest of his fights until he dies in the ring. I'll watch Floyds fights because I don't want to miss an upset of Tokyo 1990 proportions (but I don't pay for em, I have streams I can watch them live on for free).

Basically, F--- Floyd and his propoganda shows like 24/7 and All Access and his press conferences and tours of the country to promote fights. As long as he's not making any money off of me, he can do what he wants. He'll never be in Ali's class and be a God forever, even well after he's retired...not happening with Floyd, so no worries there. He won't even come close to being as memorable as Tyson.

Basically (and I'm sorry I know this post is all over the place, I'm inebriated a bit) we have ALL these fights to watch from the late 1800's to the present. Why can't we just enjoy them and ignore Floyd and his money making schemes? I'm sitting here now with a Floyd Patterson interview on. Just love listening to him talk. He's the only Floyd who matters to me.

I'm of the opinion ALL the stuff Floyd is claiming to be fake such as the weed smoking and doghouse sparring are COMPLETELY real. He is now in full crisis management and spin mode because of the possible ramifications on showing/endorsing illegal narcotics use and unsafe conditions/environment in a boxing gym. Once NSAC got in Floyd's grill somebody ( FAR too late) told Floyd to put this story out that All Access is fake. There is where the main problem lies: Floyd's circle. He has so many yes men nobody had the gall to tell him this stuff not only looks bad but could have serious consequences. Same thing again with his ill-advised comments on the Ray Rice fiasco and the awfully executed retraction. He should have a more hands on pr rep if he even has one to guide him in such things. While a genius in the ring he is FAR from that in other segments of life.

And forgive me, I am new to forums, I've only been a member of one other forum. I'm still learning how to maneuver around, how to act and talk, what the ettiguite is, what's "cool" nad "uncool" in terms of topics and threads...idk I'm just gonna do my best to be a good contributer to this forum and have some good boxing conversations and talk about fights past, present and future. Don't have any friends in real life who give half a crap about boxing, they're all UFC fans and all drink alcohol and get together to watch them. I don't drink, and the only other sport I truley love is hockey, which is not very popular in the USA. I just wanna not be hated here, ultimately. Please point out if I'm "dong it wrong" in any aspect of being a member of a forum. PM me if I am "doing it wrong."

Anyway, why is the OP having people tell him he might get banned for this post? What is this new rule? And is anyone surprised, I mean doesn't Floyd pay for All Access, he basically produces the show, it's supposed to be all about him and what a warrior he is while preparing for his fights, how he's a great family man, an honest and clean, noble fighter, and a hard and dedicated worker (Hard work! Dedication! Yeah gfys).

I'll never pay for another Floyd fight..last one I paid for was vs Hatton, which was worth my money. I enjoyed that fight, it's (unfortunately I guess) the BEST fight I've ever actually paid for and watched from home, legally. The De La Hoya fight I also paid for...totally ripped off. Zab Judah and Mosely fights were alright, better than the Oscar fight, but still the second half was boring. Loved the low blow by Zab, though. I'm a Tyson guy, I like action and brawling but also with skill and speed, heart and that warrior mentality. Few fighters have that now.

And wtf, why is my local sports channel, MSG (which shows Rangers and Knicks games) ALWAYS showing freaking John Duddy fights? Who the hell is this guy and why are his fights always on TV?

I really wasn't shocked when I saw the weed smoking thing. I think Floyd smokes weed, or at least takes benzos (Valium, Xanax, Klonopin...one of them, not all) or opiate painkillers that he gets high off of (athletes, especially boxers, most definitely have prescriptions for painkillers and Floyd could probably buy an entire pharmacy and a personal pharmacist/doctor like Michael Jackson had). I've seen some interviews with Floyd where he seems intoxicated, and I've been around people who have had issues abusing opiate painkillers and he was spot on with how he spoke and his demeanor and body language..that doesn't mean anything, I'm just sayin...but who cares? I don't think any less of him. They aren't PED's or anything. All boxers definitely use narcotic painkillers, they HAVE to. They should be allowed to whenever they want as long as it's under the supervision of a doctor.

There is no way anyone can ever prove whether they were smoking real weed in that scene. And who cares anyway? People smoke weed. I used to smoke, and I'm still here, fully functional, hard working full time job, pay my bills. I think Floyd was just trying to reach the "stoner audience" and maybe get a few more PPV buys. (Not all people who smoke pot are broke losers who spend all their money on drugs...). Ya know Joe Rogan smokes pot and he's a multi millionaire lol. ****** and pointless comparison but I couldn't help myself.

Sounds like damage control to me....smoking weed on camera and the dudes fighting like caged pits. That one dude had a broken hand at the end of the "sparring" and Floyd had the munchies the entire episode but it was fake doe. Right, and if everyone were to praise the show, he would be bragging about how authentic and professional his production was. He is fitting into the promoter role nicely..."Yesterday I was lying, today I'm telling the truth".

Absolutely. This is good news for the NFL, they always find a way to get the spotlight off of them when something BIG that can potentially really damage their image pops up. Like all the murderers, wife beaters, child abusers, rapists, drug dealers and drug addicts in the NFL...well now one boxer made a mistake by having someone smoke weed on camera in his show and all the attention shifts to him. It was his house, his gym, where all this stuff took place. As far as I'm concerned, those unsanctioned 30 minute round sparring sessions "to the death" are awesome and fine with me. There are much worse things we need to deal with as a society, I don't think sparring sessions that involve professional athletes are even on the list. Usually can't stand Floyd, but I defend him on all fronts in this situation. Always knew his ****** shows were fake.

This forum went from being the wild west with ****o being posted everywhere and a guy spamming my profile in racial slurs and death threats every day for a year while the mods egged him on.... To the most strict forum I've ever been on with people being banned for posting breaking news a couple hours too late.

Is somewhere in the middle that hard? Yeah I know I'm breaking some rule by posting about the rules. Whatever. It's currently unusable.
