I like everything about Canelo. He's fun to watch (throws great combinations etc.), and will fight anyone in order to try and prove himself as one of the best. When guys like Danny Garcia are justifying Rod Salka match-ups, Canelo demands the toughest fight for himself at his weight class. When other guys are fighting once or twice in a year, and are happy to just take an easy paycheck, he fights 3 times. When everyone else treats Floyd like a god, Canelo says he wants to take his pay-per-view dates from him for the sake of his country. That's why I like him, he's an example of what a fighter should be. A man with a spine.

Love his attitude, he dares to be a great. I wish more fighters were like him, the sport would be much better for it.

Still, he got whooped of Floyd and would every day of the week and twice on sundays but he has everything it takes to be the biggest star in boxing when Mayweather retires.

I can totally see why a lot of people aren't fond of Canelo: the enormous amount of coddling he got as a prospect, the fake title he won vs Hatton, the questionable scorecards, the crazy hype etc.

BUT he is the only fighter I know of who fights tough opponents even when he doesn't have to. And not just tough opponents, guys that are notoriously difficult to look good against. And for that he deserves at least a grudging respect.
