Uhh this is pretty major! WTF!!!

Well at least he is not cut on top.. cus then ur hurting it all night.

I think it will bother him a little bit when he grips, but it wont be a big issue when his punches.

I could never have believed this would happen in two lifetimes, but I agree with you slim! How on God's lovely earth can anyone hurt himself so bad by simply having his hand unwrapped?! If DLH can be cut so easily so badly by a handwrap, how can he survive the fists (even if gloved) of The Executioner?! Be that as it may, that issue will be grist for the new mill. We've lost our old threads, we all can start raving and ranting over this in the new! Hurray for lame excuses!

Oscar is a warrior and doesn't have a track record of making excuses, so I don't expect him to do that tonight. I doubt very much if he could beat Hopkins with concrete hands.

What was a trainer doing with a blade while unwrapping his fighters hands??? If he had to use a blade, hadn't he heard of scissors??? Amid the excitement and chaos of many championship post-fight scenes atop rings throughout the decades, I've never heard, much less, seen a fighter getting nicked, much less cut badly, while his trainer was taking off handwraps! How can one cut a figher's palm with a pair of scissors?! It would be tough even if one tried! What did they say made the cut?

All moot and academic now, ain't it? De la Hoya's hand, cut or not, by whatever, whoever, whenever, however and "whyever", had nothing to do with the way the fight ended. T'was Hopkins' hand...er,fists that had everything to do with it.
